Bangladesh has recently come to the focus. Along with the worlds demand, the local market is also altering itself to rapid changes in fashion trends. Largest sector of Bangladesh, garments/textiles is recently looking for Fashion Designers and highly skilled technical personnel.
There are many courses on Fashion Design in Bangladesh. Lengths of the courses are from 6 months to 1 year diploma and 4 years higher degree. After completing an Honors course on Fashion Design you can take an MBA degree. There is the possibility to get scholarships on those courses.
Few institutes in Bangladesh currently provide these courses. College of Fashion Technology & Management (CFTM) is a significant institute among them. CFTM provides Apparel Manufacture & Technology (AMT), Fashion Design & Technology (FDT), and Knitwear Manufacture & Technology (KMT) etc courses under National University (NU).
CFTM also offers some short courses on fashion design and technology. These are: Fabrics, Pattern, Compliance, and other courses. Tuition fees of CFTM also lower than other institutions.
The job of a fashion designer is highly demandable and exciting. But another aspect of this profession is a lot of hard work that is needed to be able to reach the top of this line and stay there. It is certainly not as easy as it sounds.
