A lecturer of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Samia Farhana Soma ousts four female students from the class for wearing Niqab.
The incident took place at the Zoology department of the University on September 22, 2015. Those female students complained to the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Farzana Islam about the incident on September 16, 2015 (Wednesday).

The female students mentioned in the complaint that, we are from Muslim families. We do 'Purdah' from our early age as a family tradition. We were never encountered any resistance for our Niqab in other school and colleges. Till now, we keep wearing Niqab at the university with freedom.
But the harsh truth is that, the teacher of 202-number course in 2nd year Samia Farhana Soma was forced us to open the Niqab in the last two days. We were forced to open our Niqab for two days against the intense pressure from her. Later, we again started taking part in the classes with Niqab, but she threw us out of the class and ordered us to not attend her class. Certainly, we have become upset.
The lecturer Samia Farhana Soma said, I said them to take off the Niqab in the class, because I cannot understand their expression with Niqab. But they would not listen to me at all times.
President of the department Professor Md. Munawar Hossain said, I don't hear the matter till now. So, I cannot say anything about this.
