Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) is awarded a project for the establishment of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)-an initiative undertaken by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
In response to the approval of IQAC, NUB has formed Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) & Self Assessment Committee (SAC), and arranged an Introductory Ceremony of IQAC on September 09, 2015.

The Ceremony was held at the presence of the Honorable Chief Guest Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Head, Quality Assurance Unit (QAU), UGC. Dr. Mokhlesur Rahman, Senior Operations Officer, The World Bank and Professor Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, Quality Assurance Specialist, QAU, UGC were present as special guests. Professor Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah, Chairman, NUBT graced the occasion as the guest of honor, and Professor Dr. AWM Abdul Huq, Vice-Chancellor (in charge) and also the Chairman, QAC, NUB presided over the ceremony.
Honorable Chief Guest Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed highly appreciated the overall effort of NUB for the establishment of IQAC. In his speech, he identified the key areas of quality assurance and encouraged the IQAC to design a well structured process guideline to stress upon such areas and achieve IQAC objectives.
Honorable Chairman and Guest of Honor, Professor Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Abdullah, Chairman, NUBT has expressed his gratitude to UGC and The World Bank for allowing NUB to establish the IQAC. In a brief speech he has also mentioned the history of higher education in Bangladesh and the foundation of Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), which plays a major role in the establishment of IQAC for NUB.
