Debating Society of Economics (DSE) - an organization of Economics department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) organized the fresher's reception and debating competition.
The program was organized at Faculty of Social Sciences of the university on September 12, 2015 (Saturday). The former president of the Student Conference of the Economics department AKM Shahidur Rahman was the chief guest on the occasion.

Professor Anu Muhammad said in his chief guest speech, "University education means that you learn much more than the theoretical knowledge. He said, "There is no man without merit. Each student should try to develop their own merit."
Inter-batch debating competition was held at the second phase of the program. The 44th batch students win the competition by defeating the 42nd batch. The winning team debaters are- Mushfiq, Abir, and Biplob. The best debater is Mushfiqus Salehin Mim.
Founder president of the organization Omar Faruk Sujan; Moderator, an associate professor Amin Masood Ali; Acting President of the department Professor Mohammad Amjad Hossain and other teachers of the department attend the program while Ishrat Sharmin in the chair.
General Secretary of former student conference Md. Moin Uddin, Dr. Taufiq Ahmed Chowdhury, Nesar Ahmed and members of the conference were also attended the program.
