Textile Engineering for higher education is the most demandable subject in the country. Many of the students wants to study in Textile Engineering after passing HSC.

The main government university for study in Textile Engineering is Bangladesh University of Textile (BUTex). In addition, Mawlana Bhashani Science And Technology University (MBSTU) and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) also offers the BSC in Textile Engineering course.

Textile students sees the textile more than just clothing: Companies are developing fabrics stronger than Kevlar, which is used in body armor and bulletproof vests. Others are improving medical uses of textiles, such as composite materials used in artificial hearts and replacement joints.

Even on the clothing side, technology is driving changes such as faster looms, water-free dyeing techniques and new fabrics, such as artificial leathers and imitation denim.

Public textile educational institutes are - Bangladesh University of Textiles (Only one Textile University in Bangladesh formerly called the "College of Textile Technology"), Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering College, Bangabandhu Textile Engineering College (Operated by Dhaka University, and formerly called the Bangladesh Institute of Textile Technology (BITT)), Begumgonj Textile Engineering College, Noakhali (Operated under the faculty of science of Chittagong University), Chittagong Textile Engineering College (Operated under Chittagong University), Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Pabna Textile Engineering College (Operated under Rajshahi University).

Public-Private Partnership institute - NITTRAD: National Institute of Textile Training Research and Design (NITTRAD) is a constituent institute of the University of Dhaka.

Diploma in Textile Institutes are - Tangail Textile Institute, Dinajpur Textile Institute and Barisal Textile Institute.

Private textile educational institutes are - Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology, South East University, Daffodil International University, Primeasia University, University of South Asia, Bangladesh, Victoria University of Bangladesh, Green University of Bangladesh, City University, World University of Bangladesh (WUB), The People's University of Bangladesh, Bangladesh University of Business and Technology, European University of Bangladesh.
